Speaking of CNBS, am I the only idiot who sees a conflict here?

08:51 ET Honeywell Intl (HON) 38.20: -- Update -- CNBC reporting that sources say HON has sent a letter to General Electric (GE 48.87) offering to reduce the price of the merger to a 1.01 share ratio from 1.05; also suggests GE should reinstate $2.2 bln in divestitures and sell 19.9% of GECAS in an effort to win EC approval.

Gee (or, "GE", as it were), I wonder who the "sources" were?
