Wonder why he did not compare P/E's? Maybe because he would have been hard pressed to claim a 3X times historical valuation as "reasonable"!

You are so right. Book value only matters when a company is worth more dead than alive and historical P/S ratios have no significance unless margins can eventually return to historical levels, which is highly doubtful in the case of Intel.

Unfortunately, I think there is more down in Intel at this time than up in AMD. That's why I shorted INTC yesterday at $30.30, a departure from my usual investment style.
