Mike, I feel as if many folks are so starved for any glimmer of good news that they're making much ado about nothing, and the weakness will overcome sooner or later (hopefully sooner in my case!). You can be certain however, that I'll be watching closely. I've averaged up and am now down less than a buck on my position, so I have plenty of room to play my standard percentage game. I probably won't risk any more than what I have on the table now and may have to wait awhile for a win, but I'm betting we won't go high enough from here for me to get stopped out.

michael,

for what it's worth I'm hedging my long position by placing a GTC order for alot more AMAT at $1.00 above Cary's "strike price".

regards

OT to Michael and Brian:

Here's an idea for avoiding double posts. If the first click doesn't work within a reasonable length of time, try this:

Keep a second copy of your browser open on your list of bookmarked threads. Instead of clicking Publish Message again, use the second browser window to click on the thread. That way you can view the list of recent posts to see if yours got on the list. If it did, then you can just click the Back button in your first browser window until you get back to where you were in the thread.

(Note: You can also skip back to where you were without waiting for multiple pages to load by finding the page you want in the list of recent pages viewed - this is found in the View, Go To menu in IE, or in the Go menu in Netscape.)

If it's not convenient to keep a second browser window open, a slightly slower method is as follows:

1. Highlight and copy your text to make sure you don't lose it.

2. Instead of clicking the Publish Message button again, go back to where you were in the thread, using one of the methods described above.

3. Click on the name of the thread to see the list of recent posts.

4. Check to see if your post is on the list, and then click the Back button to go back to where you were in the thread. If your post was on the list, resume reading. If your post was not on the list, paste your text into a new message window and try again.

I'm betting that you will find that your first click always posts the message, even if you don't get a response on your screen. If that turns out to be true, then you may wish to stop after step 2 above.
