Thanks for the mention as well as the vacation wishes, Chaz. Now, if I only had a boy and a girl that didn't find the need to fight nearly every waking minute of the day to put in the minivan for the trip through the rolling countryside of France for the next couple of weeks.... In an effort to keep the post I wrote earlier 'short', I didn't go into discussing the cyclicality of the semiconductor sector in terms of how the market treats the stocks of the companies throughout the cycle. However, there is a time to buy the stocks to capture the move from the trough of the cycle to the peak of the cycle. In terms of what we talk about in gorilla gaming this would be seen as 'timing'. However, for investors who do play the cycles or simply choose to add to positions before the launch of the next cycle at or near the lows - there have been some interesting things going on in certain parts of semiconductor land. Demand for the stocks usually picks up in anticipation of the improving fundamentals for the companies. Waiting until the fundamentals have improved usually means sitting out on the initial moves in the 'stocks', but that's all part of the way the wheel turns. Certain semiconductor stocks were "killed and written off as dead forever" (as they always are in the cycle troughs), but just watch what unfolds over the next 2 to 24 months.
