Hi wily; Re that 50% RIMM price adder...

It's something like this, (from memory, but the orders of magnitude are about right):

RDRAM...

Si area 15%
yield 5%
Testing 5%
Package 3% (Tesera)
--
Total: 28%

RIMM...

Assembly $ .50
Spreader .65
Testing .25
---
Total: $1.40
Markup: $2.80

About $20 worth of SDRAM chips should make a $25 SDRAM DIMM. (It's a brutally competitive market.) The extra RDRAM costs are around $5.60, and the extra RIMM costs are around $2.80. This gives a total price of something like $28.40, and that's 42% over SDRAM.
