13:33 ET Cisco Systems (CSCO) 19.71 +1.13 (+6.1%): Nasdaq surges to fresh session highs. Hearing that techs being propelled by positive comments out of Cisco at conference in Europe; company apparently giving indications that the inventory correction is near completion, with positive effects likely to be seen in the coming qtr... Banc of America's take is that this would be an incremental positive, although company continues to have a long road ahead of it.

It's really not any more positive than the slight uptick in the PMI or the BTB (both still imply contraction -- indeed BTB is just a ratio of 2 numbers that continue to shrink), but suckers have to have a little hope before they get smacked down again.
