NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- So far, this hasn't been a very kind year to oil sector stocks. But with the PHLX Oil Services Index drilling seven-month lows, analysts are beginning to wonder whether now may be the right time to jump back in.

Sanger's call comes in sharp contrast to Thursday's move by Frost Securities analyst Lewis Kreps, who slashed his ratings on 36 stocks in the energy group including Baker Hughes and Noble. "Think this is the bottom for energy stocks? Better think twice," was the headline of the research note in which Kreps told clients he believes exploration and production and oil service stocks could trade down by another 20 percent in the near term.

p.s. i like intl oil producers better than oil service.
