Zeev: Sure the VIX is one indicator. I can give you a VIX reading in the 8s. Trouble is that was a bull market reading of 1994. I would prefer to look at recent history and especially that history within the context of the bear market. Correlation between low VIX readings at this level and topping bear market rallies have been excellent despite it being one indicator. See August 2000 top and January top. Of course, if you think this is a bull market then here come the 9s <g>.
