<<No but I have an opinion on both and you sure as hell do too. So why do you need to meet Putin?>>

I don't need to, he's gonna have the same nukes whether I meet him or not.

<<Your logic is beginning to sound like the Snitch...... You're afraid to express the same view on Putin as W did because as a connie you know it's the wrong thing to say. >>

Who's the "Snitch"? What's a connie?

<<I expected you to challenge me as to why I said Putin would be the determining factor in W plans for MDS.... Read Tom Friedman's column from todays NY Times...>>

Nope, you and Tommy have your opinions, I have mine. Mine is President Bush thinks he will be able to work with Putin on a missile defense system.

You know it is possible the comment was made to send a signal. Do you think Bush was not well briefed on Putin prior to meeting him? Do you think that many of the prior leaders of Russia and their associates, whom the U.S. fawned over, were not gangsters ripping off the U.S. and other lenders?
For the moment if there is evidence that Putin is better what is so wrong with saying I trust you? You know, one can always stop trusting! Looking someone in the eye after you have already discussed what one can expect and making what seems to be a corny statement, is better than getting in bed with the crooks in power and by ones actions showing that not only did we trust them but we were either to stupid to understand they were gangsters or some of us believed there was a payoff for not looking them in the eye, but rather closing our eyes to the stealing.
