To All, I've been warned off my Barron's reviews, but I can give the issue a grade and point at pieces without mentioning what they say. This week was a C+, just on the cusp of being buyable, with the peripheral stuff rescuing some fairly uninspired articles. One highlight was in The Market Watch section, where the The Mogambo Guru, Richard Daughty's, comments would by themselves have been worth the price of the issue had they not been consise enough for you to read while waiting for the butcher to get his thumb off the scale. <g> Similar in power and wit was a letter in The Mailbag with the title "Drop Dead" by Ken Schade. And Abelson was at his acerbic best this week with the aid of an always sceptical David Tice.

Happy 5 day weekend.

To All, Another great country song, "I'm too lazy to work and too nervous to steal." <g> Just heard it on the radio. Ex that line, it ain't much, but a great line.

To All, I was sad to hear about Chet Atkins passing. As I've mentioned before, I've never been a big country music fan and I've come to be a Chet Atkins fan mostly for his work with Mark Knopfler. There may be better guitar players in the world, but there aren't a lot of them, and nobody could equal the "cleanness" of Atkins' sound. Unfortunately, he tried to sing a couple of times and he simply was not a great vocalist. But I hope he has a six string Country Gentleman guitar with him in Heaven.
