OT, too
What I find odd about that thread is that it could be in violation of TOS for SI. The thread's purpose is to actively solicit people for a lawsuit. Isn't solicitation on SI a TOS violation? <vbg>

Looks like WCOM caused the NASDAQ outage, btw.

ajtj99: Thanks for the link. I am not posting the disclaimer to protect myself, however I guess it doesn't hurt....<g> But, that is not why I do it.

SI use to have about 150K members and many more non-member lurkers. Only a small portion of the folks that read SI actually post. I think (just a hunch) for the most part those that post are more sophisticated with regards to investing/trading than those that just lurk. So, I think it is important to remind some of the vets and inform the "newbies" not to give to much weighting to what they read on message boards by anonymous posters. And we should all take responsibility for our trades and or investments.

During the years I hosted the MDD thread, I was Pmailed or Emailed more sad stories than you could imagine. Most folks that get burned in this market never mention it publicly, but many come seeking advise on how to exit a trade or investment decision gone bad.

Two biggest problems I’ve seen...

1) Folks trading options because they don’t have enough money to trade stocks. (Don't trade options.)

2) Folks holding a trade or investment gone south “hoping” it will come back as it slides off a cliff. (Commissions have been cheap for some time and now with penny spreads it just makes sense to cut losses quickly. Ride the wins and cut the losers. It takes discipline but it works.)

Regards,
LG
