"It is hard to remember that the original goal was to drain the swamp when you are up to your ass in alligators." Many good interpretations possible, with one being that when one originated the plan to do something that one forgot to include necessary steps to handle stuff that will for sure be present not by chance or accident or as an intruder, but attached directly "as part of the deal." Those above alligators "got in the way" yes, but in another way, as those people who build homes way out in the wilderness discovered, that some of the wild animals like a cougar can throw a big monkey-wrench and prevent or hinder or even change the plans, as people realize that the mountain lion did not get in their way as much as the people got in its way. This simple point that what many feel as being outside the framework or landscape of what they wish to focus on, is actually connected and can not be ignored or pushed away. It would be very understandable if you did a ron-moon type remark to yourself at this point and once again say "What the heck is he saying?" + "Darn, do i have to reread this post of his to figure it out." "It is hard to remember that the original goal was to obtain a yes/no reply when D:o)ug has you up to your ass in other stuff." "... [do]you[dougak] think it is OK for Claude to post from his [pay to view web]site or not?" Rather than i answer directly to the above question, i will give my opinion about Claude using another example, and then later after i paste other text from your post i will answer directly, somewhat :o). Months ago on the Gold & Silver thread that has as it purpose to discuss actual individual companies i asked Claude if he had an opinion on Tyhee which is an Canadian explore company i hold shares in and i have created an SI thread which actually has the president of this company who has an Ph.D. in geology as an active poster. Claude mentioned that he was not aware of Tyhee, which was understandable since recently did a 20 to 1 reverse split with name change from Mongolian Gold after years of "failure" never becoming a producer. ok, so now to answer your question this way, what if Claude looked into Tyhee and decided that it was on the radar now since new investment cash flowed into it and they now have access to the land areas in Canada's Northwest Territories that has already become knowned as producing gold. So might Claude include it onto his watch list? If so it could be flagged as any of the following. - not worth any time & effort - look at later, not now - watch only but no buy - possibly buy as highly speculative - wow, where has this been hiding (thanks doug) But even if the last one did happen i would not have received that thanks from Claude since i do not subscribe to his newsletter, and in my opinion he should not place anything onto this public thread that others pay for, not even a month later like some do using reasoning that all subscribers already did any buy recommendations and now any hype a company is good for past buyers. So to me, if i sold a newsletter, it would not be showned to anyone outside subscribers "forever." Now i posted lots of Gata related material from the Le Metropole Cafe in the beginning, which was not correct totally, but in spirit it served a good cause to get the word out. Once again, i will break the rules to help my agenda if i know that its done inside a Good v Evil Battle(war zone). But back to Claude, and he boxed himself in, between a rock and a hard place, even if i created the info that he happened to look at and by chance he found a good finding, he was under no obligation to report that Tyhee is a good speculative buy to me as being his opinion/answer to my question except only to obtain in spirit why he posted on that thread. I do not know if Claude looked into Tyhee since he never got back with a comment after saying he was going to look into it. But then maybe i'm remembering wrong and he never said that, but i do think he did. (off topic) To me excuses like "too busy" do not exist. But now i have to speculate with some strong judgement about folks like Claude that have those newsletters for sale while posting with non subscribers on those threads that are the focus of the newsletter. Do they only do this for exposure that they are knowledgeable about this area of trading for investments purposes to make money, or do they just wish for the action of exchanging information, or maybe both. Claude does research on probably all the companies discussed on that Gold & Silver thread for individual companies, but he does not place into any posts specific information he writes into his newsletter for paying subscribers, so he is knowned as having indepth insight and opinions, but the reader like i can not obtain any info for a buy/hold/sell from his posts. Seems that he only exchanges information between other posters that they themselves have either done the research themselves or obtained from another newsletter, and these exchanges exclude specifics needed by those like i and most likely all other readers of that thread hoping to learn of good investments. Seems to me to go counter to the purpose and spirit of why Silicon Investor was created. Once again i will use one of my best people references to make a point. A simple Safe Harbor first as i do not have him on People Mark and have not monitored any of his post here on Silicon Investor for over a month. But it has been said that Zeev Hed's posts are good enough that he could package them and sell that info as a pay to view newsletter. Last i heard was that Zeev said that he would never do that. Now one possible reason would be that he does not want the stuff associated with given other advice, but to my understanding of this person is that he is not afraid of something like this, as he takes responsibility for his actions and will not go on any guilt trip induced by some who wish to cause hurt and pain. My guess is that he would lose his ability to fully post his thoughts if he was under that restriction of only giving them to payed subscribers. For sure i believe that this way Zeev obatins a huge amount of information, data and feedback from others when he has no restrictions on what he can post. To me what he gets is worth more than a fee from subscribers, and i will venture that his own personal trading benefits to the plus side by him posting freely, as at the end of the day(s) he is worth more both in mental spirit and bank account. But then this is my guessing far away from his actual activity and communications with others, as i have no contact with Zeev outside me using him as an example and his sometimes "grudging" replying to one of my posts. He might be worried that i will ask again about when i will finally see the ZeeB FrizzB for sale at ToysRus :o). See, my answer was "no" to your question. d:oug
