Mike,
we both know that you have a hard time competing when the underlining premises are controlled by the competitors. but instead of arguing to scrap the provisions that enable this unbundling I am quite confident that a second or third or fourth wave of new CLECs will finally be succesful in reaching the desired goal. Obviously you need STAYING POWER in a longer term match against those incumbents and the typical highly-leveraged almost fully debt-financed business plans we have seen so far from most CLECs wouldn't give that. I conclude that as soon as we will see CLECs with staying power (maybe utilities trying this) then the unbundling will really work - even the stalling tactics that were effective against over-leveraged competitors wouldn't help so much in such a context. Or look to ILECs in Europe becoming CLECs in another country. Very good at this is Telia/Telinor of Sweden.

We all see the current situation. Just our conclusions may be different.. <g>

Very interesting keynote address by Len Lauer president of Sprint Global Market Groups on Fixed Wireless, from June 26th speech at WCA.

It covers a variety of topics that have been subject of this thread.
