Maybe option players have been losing more due to the the tight trading range on the Nasdaq and so are less willing to do the option route. I am not an option player. Somebody with that experience is more qualified. But why buy a put or call on AMAT unless it is a hedge? Look at the trading range. With options, you have to time it right. Playing AMAT straight, you can trade long the valley and short the top without that concern.
