Zeev: Re: "Most of the SOX reversal was the dump Jay mentioned on AMAT, from close to $53 to $49. Most of the rest held at least half their gains."

Assuming AMAT is 10% of the Sox, I would think some but not most of the decline from top to close was due to AMAT. I would say less than 20%.

Zeev- how much of that was real re: AMAT?

I think If I were around for the madness, I probably would have went long AMAT on the break under 50.. It just seemed really weird.. Matter of fact, even INTC I show the last after hours trade at 29.30 which cant be where it starts trading on Monday- Just one of those things..

I know alot of people got strange fills during the madness as well.. I wonder if they will bust the trades if they are too outrageous?

A perfect ending to a very very strange week.. Im still looking at the chart of CCMP and wondering how I managed to get lucky enough to cover my short at $54 when it looked like all the semis were goign to break down.. Sometimes we just get plain lucky- gotta cherish those moments : )

...I dont think ill ever cover my MU short unless it breaks 65... Id like to meet someone who can explain to me why/how this stock stays afloat..
