George: Excellent point on the money funds. The danger of one of the highly touted "high yield" funds breaking the buck ($1.00 NAV) is very real. In the few instances where this occured in the past the fund's parent stepped up to hold the dollar/share valuation. Will that occur this time if some of the really cheesy funds, loaded with crummy debt, can't make it all work?

In my dealings with pension assets we have made it a long standing practice to use only treasury only funds. Easier, cleaner, more prudent, no questions and the yield differential is not enough to outweigh ever having to explain this kind of problem.
