I don't know about our reserve situation. I do know that OPEC controls the market(you answered your own question when you said that our efforts are tiny when compared to Persian Gulf output), and when they vote to cut production, we feel the effects.

I do often wonder how prices can stay basically the same for 20 years. 1980 gas prices here were ranging from $1 to $1.35. For some reason, Americans think they should just stay in that range. It's like everyone except farmers and energy industry people should get cost of living raises. But food and gas (and heating oil, natural gas etc...) prices can't be raised. If they go up, then someone wants an investigation. "They're getting rich", they're gouging people". The cars and trucks our energy industry powers have over tripled in those same 20 years. No one investigates these increases. Everyone wants to make more money, why not energy people? They seem to be considered evil if they do make money.

Anyway, thanks for the conversation.

Have a good weekend Fallope.
