I checked out time and sales data on some of the most flagrant risers. I observed very few trades at those high prices, all in the last 2 minutes of trading, involving less than 10,000 shares or so.

There was very limited opportunity to notice (let alone short) the price swing unless one was monitoring the stock anyway.

I did pick up some DLIA and CIO short, as I am familiar with those situations. Missed an EMEX fill unfortunately.

It was chaos - precisely contrary to the exchanges most important mandate: orderly markets.
