It isn't ready made at the start. In choosing my ethics, I make myself, and force of circumstances is such that I can not abstain from choosing one. If I've discarded God the Father, there has to be someone to invent values. You've got to take things as they are. Moreover, when I say that humans invent values I mean nothing else but this: life has no meaning a priori(completely independent of experience). Humanism ultimately means a theory and way of life which takes humans as an end and as the highest value. Humans are simply amazing, don't you think, Richard? Humans are constantly outside of themselves; in projecting themselves, in losing themselves outside of themselves, they make existence worthwhile for themselves and others. Clearly, Hutch takes fiat money as his highest value. In this state of passing beyond, and seizing upon things as they bear upon this passing beyond, fiat money is at the heart of what Hutch sees, chooses and loves, at the center of this passing beyond. Others here on this thread see, choose and love gold, at the center of this passing beyond. I choose Human Freedom, Human Love, Human Responsibility, Human Involvement, Human Ambition, Human Friendship, Human Hope and Human Care. Need I remind you again that there is no proof of a law maker outside of humans. Whether or not God exists is irrelevant to the fate of the Gold Mining Industry. And so is whether or not a human is liberal or conservative. Conservatives and Liberals alike support a strong dollar. So, there you got my point of view. Not that I believe that God exists, but I think the problem of God's existence and whether a person is liberal or conservative, is not the issue for the gold mining industry moving forward.
