It''s never happened to me but it is not uncommon for ZA to quarantine suspicious looking email attachments. It's probably an exe file that has some attribute that ZA is wary of. When something like this is found ZA renames the file with the .zl9 extension until you remove it from quarantine. I'd wait for a reply myself or just delete it if you don't hear from your buddy.
