Of course this is quite a matter of perspective. Some lobbyists no doubt deserve their bad reputation. But many serve a useful function. When they are successful in protecting their own interests, often millions of people disassociated with those interests indirectly benefit by having a government that is perpetually held accountable to its own law. I just don't think the government is the benevolent pancake making mammy you seem to think it is. History has shown that "Government is not eloquence; government is not reason; government is a force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant, and a fearsome master." The more we are able to keep government in check, the better it will be for all.
