I disagree. I think what NOW did was part intellectual corruption and part politics, not mindlessness. Believing in something without rigorous intellectual critique is mindless. Faith is, by definition, mindless. Not all religious people hold their beliefs through blind faith. Some augment that with an intellectual process, perhaps half-baked, perhaps rigorous. But the essence of religion is faith.
