Is anyone hearing the m300 coming?

I think the m300 will be a mistake. The m500/505 aren't worthy of being high-end products. Face it, the competition will place the m505 at best a $350 device (more likely a $250-$300 one), and the m500 will need to drop to $200. I believe these price drop will take place in the next 6 months. The m300 is the last thing we need. Functionally, there is no market between the m100 and m500. Price-wise, there will not be one either. Then why does Palm Inc. think there is one?

I welcome Palm to prove me wrong if the m500/505 will hold up in their prices and that there is a market between the m100 and m500. But if Palm is wrong, I will be protesting for a Yankowski resignation.

The only way I see the m500/505 holding up is if they do a face plate upgrade. Moving to 320x320 resolution. My friend spoke to a m505 designer at Palm about why the m505 is not using a 320x320 screen. The answer was that Palm didn't want to compete against its licensee--Sony in a very direct way. Sony certainly didn't care to stay out of Palm's market. (And why should it?) This clearly shows that the current business model is a contradicting one, and it's impossible to get the best of both world!
