A good piece. I think it's hard to reject where a view toward social policy is concerned.

Private policy is quite another matter. My wife drives what is practically a Mack truck (new Suburban and we will get a Ford Excursion once Ford works out the kinks in that vehicle). I could have made a lesser purchase and diverted the remaining resources elsewhere. But quite frankly, I don't care about doing that. Folks be crazy. I love my wife and kids, and want that they have every chance of surviving a crash with some numbskull on the freeway. Moreover, I drink nearly pure water. Sure, I could save money and instead drink award winning Municiple Sludge. But I choose not to do so. I just don’t prefer the full-bodied aroma and deep color typically found in Municiple Sludge. I quite prefer the clean taste and clear appearance of my water. It’s really a matter of personal preference. America is a great country that way.
