I agree 100% with you on not chasing anything.
I bought a little dfxi which I think will be up 1000's of % in a few years, sold at a dollar loss because some radio analyst said we could get it at 32 soon! It of course went up to new highs without me. Now I'm waiting for 32, but at least 37 which would be less than I sold my shares at. I'll just get a little if it comes down because I still think we'll have a horrible Oct why should this year be any different? Anyway I'm studying zen to be a calmer trader so I 'm in no rush to do anything.
Did put some money into Oakmark select fund before they closed, great record in good and bad markets, and am putting a little into Wasatch Core Growth, good record in up and down markets and they are in my next year's home town so I can go see them in person (not that that means anything, it's just cute.)
I'm looking at the ones that came up as growth stocks though and also dorl and nycb, very strong financial institutions.

Someday maybe I'll want qcom again but I have to be sure that ipr are really upheld by the courts, anymore after what happened to rambus, I think ipr will NOT be upheld by the courts and that will hurt qcom.
