a good spanking will come, ... you can count on it .... spankings=hurt=panic=bye bye little investor ...

I think most little investors went bye-bye awhile ago. The little old man buying Nortel could be a sign of something ... maybe you'll be shining his shoes next year.<ggg> When even a man who shines shoes can afford to buy Nortel ... that may be the sign of a bottom ... but I'm not betting on it.

at present,... many small investors believe that the markets are sound and that the system is their to protect them ....

The little investor is mostly in mutual funds nowadays.

The signs of 2nd half improvements in technology spending may mean that the Nasdaq should move higher ahead of the actual improvements.

IMHO, there are just too many short sellers in technology for this stock market to not go up on hopeful signs of an economic recovery.

I might agree with you only if the short interest decreases significantly and mutual funds again start going overweighted technology stocks.
We seem too far away from that possibility.
