In the first of two deals announced Monday morning, Playboy has signed an agreement to exercise an option to purchase The Hot Network and The Hot Zone from privately held Califa Entertainment - an option it picked up two years ago when it acquired Spice Entertainment - for $28.3 million.

At the same time, the company said it would also purchase Vivid TV and "related television assets" from another Califa-owned company for almost $42 million.
