Qualcom has a very good wireless browser for the Palm OS. But it is only HTML. I'd like to see Qualcomm buy PUMA. Then Qualcom will be able to charge for its browser and PUMA's graphical browser, which supports SSL. That would be a tremendous revenue increase for Qualcom. Moreover, PUMA's intellisync software is a good product but needs better customer support.

PUMA is trading for $2+. With a buyout of PUMA, Qualcomm becomes the dominant leader in Internet Browser Software for the Palm OS. Handspring's Blazer crashes on non Visor Handhelds and Palmscape is too slow. Yet Palmscape has the nerve to charge $29+ for its browser, while the PUMA and Qualcom browser are free.

The key to the growth of Palm is to get Novatel to give up on MCOM and develop a 56K wireless modem. That would be an incentive to get people to buy more Palm Pilots.

This industry is too fragmented and needs to work more closely together.
