Usually when the thread talks about a potential buyout, it's been in terms of some large established player like MSFT, SUNW, ORCL, etc. I'm speculating that there is another option, where someone just rolls up a bunch of software companies like WIND/LBRT/ELON/XTND to create a super company like Charles Wang did to create CA. Call it Ubiquitous Computing Associates. Does this make any sense? Or is there a good reason for these companies to exist independently? My understanding of what Wang did is pretty vague.
