I love the Shipping News- so I totally agree with you. I went out and read everything else she wrote- but the Shipping News was the only one I really connected with.

I read "The Shipping News" a month or so ago, and I loved it. I thought it was just about the most enjoyable book I could remember reading. Had me tied up in knots (chortle). I'm reading "Accordian Crimes" now, but it's relatively tough going. More violent and less redemptive. I think it may have been inspired by an old "Far Side" cartoon. 2 panels: Welcome to Heaven, here's your harp / Welcome to Hell . . .
