Paul - your Itanium comments.

Itanium does less than 400 SPEC int on heavily optimized code. The "old" instruction set in Athlon and "mostly old" P4 instruction set both beat it without requiring a gigantic chip that burns something like 140 watts.

The itanium ISA was an interesting idea that doesn't seem to have panned out.
