Betty. We could use the input from

LT folks here more often than we get it IMHO. They usually spend more of their time assessing the big trends which is equally important for those of us trading Intermediate or Shorter holding periods.

My fav is 1-8 months (occasionally longer) once I get some stocks with the technical and fundamental strength to make a run of that length a reasonable goal.

If I can bank 60-80% of those moves in a few good stocks every year, I'm very satisfied. No margin, options or short sales. And just do a few sectors. Like to keep it simple and conservative to give me a lot of free time for R&R. Having time to enjoy the $$ is as important as making it. But unfortunately, don't see much emphasis on that from most people.

Not a lot of Intermediate opportunities on the long side since last Sept though. So been holding much higher cash levels and done more ST work than usual, since that time.
