Can you go into your Internet Options..., Advanced tab, and un-check everything, leaving your system as plain vanilla as possible. If your bare bones browser works, you've narrowed the possibilities for error.

While you're at it, click the security tab and throw caution to the wind. (But don't forget to replace the armor afterward.)
