Then you really don't understand much about the commercial and professional motivations that shape American news. Having lived in both the US and the former Communist world, believe me there is a huge gulf between the linkage you are making. If you are going to condemn American media - which has plenty of faults - at least identify the right reasons. Heavy-handed State or Party control is not among them. American politicians fantasize about controlling the media that completely.
