Thank you for your congrats on The Frost Place. I've just spent the afternoon reading a book on writing poetry: cramming. I'm not sure about taking a laptop. I don't think it's encouraged, but I'll undoubtedly blather on about it when I return in early August.

Now, about the "Is childrearing the most difficult of jobs?" question: You're right to want to define terms. For me, the most salient points of job difficulty would include: level of physical and mental stress, financial compensation, and likelihood of long-term reward. Just tossing these off the top of my head. For me, childrearing was off the meter in terms of mental stress.
