"....impose their version of what the culture ought to be on everybody else in the country?" You have said this several times now. It is fairly meaningless since culture is always imposed. This statement could be attributed to anyone who has an opinion and is involved with supporting it. I realize most people outside of Afghanistan consider the ideas of the Taleban unacceptable. That's why we are staying out. The culture that is there is far more supported by the Afghans than not. You would like to "impose" Western traditions on them. Lots of people would, so I guess you are normal.
