Amazon.com's free shipping offer, which began June 20, ends Wednesday,
spokesman Bill Curry told Dow Jones Newswires. After Wednesday, shipping rates
will return to those in place June 19. Amazon previously charged a base
shipping rate of $3.49 per order plus 99 cents per item. Product prices also
will also revert to June 19 levels.

Amazon's promotion had always been designed as a two-week test, Curry said,
and the company will evaluate customer feedback on the promotion to decide
whether to reinstate free shipping or other discounts.

"We had a lot of positive feedback, a lot of nice e-mails," Curry said. "Some
people liked it the old way, too. We need to step back and look at all the
input."
