TWB - Re: ISRG

I dont feel this is an obvious short at all.

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. designs and manufactures the da Vinci Surgical System. The Company's da Vinci System consists of a surgeon's console, a patient-side cart, a high performance vision system and its proprietary instruments. Intuitive's da Vinci Surgical System is a commercially available technology that can provide the surgeon with the intuitive control, range of motion, fine tissue manipulation capability and 3-D visualization characteristic of open surgery, while simultaneously allowing the surgeon to work through the small ports of minimally invasive surgery.

The report reads very well and shows steady improvement.

Seems to me there is some nice momentum building in this stock.

Cap is 493 million
Cash is 2.15/share with no debt

Estimate for 2001 is -.40
Estimate for 2002 is -.01

Burn rate is very small for the cash that they have.

Revenues last 5 quarters:
12,079,000
10,706,000
7,859,000
5,127,000
2,933,000

nice steady growth

EARNINGS PER SHARE
Quarters 1999 2000 2001
MAR -1.270 -0.900 -0.100
JUN -0.700 -0.230
SEP -0.870 -0.120
DEC -0.980 -0.140

Totals -3.820 -1.390 -0.100

Nice steady improvement here (there was a charge of 3 cents in Dec Q of 2000

Also, they beat estimates nicely last 4 quarters
7,4,1 and 2 cents for the latest quarter

Chart looks like a nice step latter (which I always hate shorting)
Short term probably extended, but not unreasonable.
giant support at 8.50 and minor at 10.50

I am not touching this stock, but if forced to take a position - I would choose the long side.
