(do you know how good a small mouth tastes rolled in cornmeal and butter and cooked over a fire? You were smart to"let him go" until next year....he'll be 18"!)

Clappy, you have a way with words. They revived some fond memories of fishing with my kids when they were little. My son caught a 28 pound salmon when he was 9, and for a while it was even money that the fish would land him. He won the pool for the first fish and the biggest fish, a no brainer since it was the only fish taken by 18 fishermen on the party boat that day. Thanks for reminding me.

Clappy,

<<Right then and there I realized I witnessed the birth of two mighty fishermen.
They respect the fish and do not wish to hurt them. But they are drawn to the challenge of landing the
big one.
That energy is locked up inside them now.
That feeling and memory will be relived each and every time they feel a nibble on their hook.
The time waiting inbetween the bites will be spent absorbing all the beauty that surrounds them.
Absorbing it all. Drinking it in...>>

And your two boys will tell their own children of the joy they shared with their father while fishing. Today, you helped form their personal histories and a lifetime of memories. What a great story.
