"The leaked email is a call for Intel customers to attend a meeting in two weeks' time. Intel staff themselves will be briefed about "the changes" late next week."

Sounds like a last ditch attempt to keep Dell in the fold.

"Alternatively, Intel may be bringing forward chips it's expecting to launch much later in the year, the 0.13 micron Pentium 4 die shrink, codenamed Northwood, as part of a plan to phase out the PIII brand more quickly than originally planned.'

Well, INTC's future does depend on P4 success, which since its intro, seems to have waned markedly. Perhaps in attempt to reignite some interest in P4, its time to throw all the INTC resources behind P4. INTC has no choice. P4 has to fly if INTC is to maintain profitability. It remains to be seen, though, whether the OEM's and consumers are willing to pay high prices for the P4 for fair performance rather than fair prices for the Athy for high performance.

"Intel to make 'significant' roadmap changes next week
By Tony Smith

Something "of great significance" to PC system builders is going down at Intel - and the company is preparing to tell its customers about it in just under two weeks' time, The Register has learned."

In just under 2 weeks time, INTC posts their q2 results...That the timing of this something "of great significance" is coincidental(?) with q2 results is intriguing.

I'm surprised the Intelopers haven't commented on this something of "great significance"
