No, it was the DJU that fell 6% on the day of the Jan 3rd cut and another 6% the day after. The Utilities got waxed even with AG panicking. All the California "power crisis" stuff was coming to a head.

You are right though, the Biotechs did get hammered hard soon after the Jan 3rd cut however (the next 3 days). You are right about it being the best performing index of 2000. I guess I was thinking of an index made up of real companies. -bg-
