Hi Scott, I guess you did not note my :0) as in "I am just having a bit of fun on a slow day".

On <<if religion didn't exist, the authorities would have to invent it, otherwise, the poor would not tolerate the rich, and inequities: they must be told, "It is God's will.">>

... or they have to be told any number of other things, like "born free", "born equal", "meritocracy rules", "equal opportunity for all", "constitution", "all for one and one for all", "rule of law", "property rights", "no taxation without representation", "10 commandments", "100 amendments" and "a whole bunch of corollaries", and of course "some exceptional exceptions" and so therefore, you may be picking on religion unfairly, as it has served its historic purpose ... and all in all, we have progressed, to at least this point in time.

No rights, wrongs, but just is, by our own collective doing.

I keep saying this because any disagreements on these matters are not resolvable without use of force of one kind or another.

But you are right in one sense, I should have said "gods are kind to the many faithful" :0)

Chugs, Jay
