Chaz2--

I've learned that it's better to go with the trend

In other words, competitive advantage will float to the surface and be recognized by the market--eventually--regardless of the flotsam and jetsam in between.

tekboy: Hey I will take that specific choice of method of agreement (?) as in substance, not in relation to the place where the word itself is frequently used. <G>.

On rereading my open (perhaps too open) personal opinion, I think it would be good to say that while all of you who have been around for awhile take my enthusiasm for Qualcomm with yawns and perhaps a mild nod or two, there is also the requirement to take it with a grain (or bucket) of salt.

All I was doing was answering Apollo's question as to what I think and do as me - in my own circumstances and based on my own judgement.

No way am I giving any advice to anyone or suggesting anyone do as I do. (Pleased that tekboy seems to have some degree of agreement though, since he has compressed the errors I made in a much briefer time frame and seems to have come to somewhat similar overall conclusions. If not, he will speak for himself no doubt)

Also on Qualcomm's fundamentals, I was a bit overenthusiastic probably about the odds on avoiding individual mines or minefields on the path ahead.

Plenty can go wrong. It is just that on balance I see a pretty good path forward for 3 to 5 years, and with less confidence for 10. Then all bets are off until a reexamination takes place.

All this is "for the record", since I don't want my enthusiasm to mislead anyone - anyone at all.

Best.
