<Are you morphing back into a bull?>

I am far less inclined to sell now [to reduce margin]. I also heard via PM [from the horse's mouth, not hearsay] that one of the thread's favourite hate-object bears has BOUGHT QUALCOMM stock after the Nokia agreement. I don't think anyone is going to get a bargain [note 1] in Q! anytime soon in the absence of an all-out market rout. If I'm not selling [to further reduce my Globalstar-inspired high margin] and bears are buying, I think that's a signal.

Anything under $100 will be a supersonic bargain in a couple of years. $150 will be very, very, well repaid. $200 will be a reasonable price. $300 right now would be a fairly-priced NPV for this, the most amazing company and technology in human history. Hic...giggle...Okay, happy 4th July and DON'T have another civil war!!! Here's to freedom and all that [low taxes would be nice too].

Full of bull,
Mqurice

1.... A bargain here being defined as a price under $50 a share.

Edit.....

Hay!! Who said you could put this post in SI highlights? Message 16031408 I demand copyright payments...

Howdy Frank...

As you know I cleared the decks some time ago...it was a good thing to do. Not so much as a capital preservation thing (that helped), but a pyschological move. It gave me a chance to re-evaluate with a clear head.

Started to buy stuff about 3 weeks ago. A nice broad range of companies...mostly tech. About 80% invested now. With all the positives working in our favor now I don't see any reason not to begin building a long term portfolio again.
This time, no more than 5% per position.

FWIW, in approximate order of weight:
QCOM
MRK
ADCT
COHR
CREE
JNPR
GLW
CSCO
IRF
EMC
NTAP
MTP
ULCM

the rest in mutuals or holders (SMH in particular, a couple value funds, some bonds and TIFQX).

I remember when the Ericsson thing happened. We got the pop, but there were some heady corrections along the way to the eve of 2000. Suspect the same thing this time around. But it seems pretty clear to me that with every major player (excluding the last two holdouts), QCOM has been paid now for the right to say that CDMA will be the ultimate winner. But as you said, patience will rule the day.

Here's to those millions we once had...slapping our portfolios again. But this time, lets pay off the mortgage.
