Scott, what surprised me on my recent trip to LA is that gas is about $.20-.30 more expensive in CA than WA even though most gas is refined in CA.

When I drove down to Miami a few years ago for a football game we decided not to stop in GA and get gas because we still had enough not to worry. We needed to stop by the time we hit the first station in FL. It was $.50 more expensive per gallon then gas back in GA. The % difference was also big because gas was cheaper then and GA has cheap gas. I don't remember the exact prices but it was under 80 cents in GA. Most stations in FL where not as expensive (I wouldn't be surprised if we loaded up at the most expensive gas station for 500 miles in any direction.), but it was easily at least $.20 or $.30 more in FL. (over 30% more).

Tim, since I made that post, there was an article [which I also posted] that said some CA gas station owners have been slow to pass off the savings realized at the whole sale level. That would make sense because just a few months ago WA and CA gas prices were about the same, give or take a couple of pennies.

BTW, I thought you were on vacation this week?
