The Naz Complacency Index gave a sell signal Tuesday, falling from 95.8 to 89.6.

The S&P 100 Complacency Index also gave a sell signal, falling from 99.6 to 91.8.

I obeyed the signals.

With all the warnings and the cloudy economic outlook, the only cause for a rally today would have been that it's P.T. Barnum's birthday. But I guess people just weren't eager to go into the circus tent today. Same old act: The clowns make their buy recommendations and then usher in the dancing bears.

The analysts sure were pushing their picks on CNBC yesterday.
