Joe Kernen is giving the (small) benefit of the doubt that it could be for a positive earnings warning. I think he's just trying to "give equal time". So late, and so close to earnings though. I don't remember a warning this late, even the Compaq one three years ago just before Pfeiffer exited. As for a positive warning, AMD hasn't been averse to keeping quiet and then announcing a big over-achieve (or under-achieve when things were poor for them). Dell??? These days nothing would surprise me.

Looks like "CRUSH II" is working!

AMD is barely making a profit in the quarter, just a few pennies per share. Expectations (ha) had been for $0.27 a share.

And this is before the full brunt of recent price cuts and the effects of the Intel Production Juggernaut have been felt. CRUSH II, the program to swat down that pesky fly looks to be on target.
