Question for the thread...

I regularly visit the local Best Buy to try to detect channel stuffing. The local store is currently stocked to the gills with new Compaq and HP PC's. They also have, for the first time I can remember, a full inventory of add on memory.

Can anyone else comment about stores near them?

"Or they tried desperately to reach their sales goal by stuffing the channel."

There is some sign of this, look at how prices were dropping on PriceWatch until the first of July. But it doesn't appear to have been severe, otherwise the prices would still be dropping.

What I am curious about is if Intel lost market share despite their price cutting, rumors of serious channel stuffing, rebates and what not, what will their earnings look like?

AMD does not count processors shipped to the disti channel as sales. I doubt the OEM's would take processors just for AMD to meet their #'s, specially as they may be taking procesors from INTC for the same purpose at the same time :)
