Thanks for your kind words.

Until the Intel results are out it's hard to interpret the AMD results. If Intel had a better quarter than expected, then the AMD shortfall is more negative than if Intel also had a tough quarter (indicating that overall market conditions made even breakeven something of a victory).

If Intel can turn back the clock and get buyers to start paying $300 to $500 for "business" desktop CPUs again (the chip, not the whole thing) they'll do great and be able to cover their capex. But I don't see the market is moving that way, in which case your price target could come about fairly soon.

Andy Grove was the one that denied the existence of the sub $1000 PC...then went overboard the other direction with the ill thought TIMNA...
Barrett may have been the fall guy.
