Dave,

Sound like you have a good system for seeking help. Incompetents can be found in any profession, but even doctors will tell you that medicine is NOT an exact science. There, probably, is no such thing as an exact science, but some are trained better in one application of medical type aid, than others. It only makes sense to seek out those who specialize in whatever problem you may have. In the last few years, I have seen enough doctors to know that skepticism is one of the most important tools a patient can have. I have had two different doctors that would have killed me if I had followed their advice, but I questioned their "orders", got second, and third, opinions, and am alive and well today.

I must admit that I have angered doctors, and nurses, when any of them say that something is doctor's "orders". I inform them that a doctor cannot give orders to anyone unless he is responsible for that persons paycheck. Doctors can give opinions, and make suggestions, and in many cases the patient would be wise to heed them, but there also a lot of cases that need to be questioned. They are not used to being questioned, and resent it. They are used to patients acting like sheep, who will do anything the doctor says without comment.

"And take your skepticism with you. That gives some of the demolibs here a problem, I realize. They tend to believe almost anything.

It appears it's not the dems but rather the connies who seem to be defending chiropractors on this thread.......if you go to a chiropractor, you'd better be prepared to believe.....but kidding aside, I don't think there anything political about it.....faith in a chiropractor, a homeopatist , in a god, or in a placebo can affect healing..... so I say, if it works for you, do it but don't try and pass anecdotal evidence on to those who require clinical or scientific evidence to reach their conclusions.
